Roxanne 1974

I took this picture of my sister Roxanne in a field behind our house in Woodland Hills.   My sisters, all younger than me, were my muses in photography.

Cobbler Aprons

November 27, 2009 by Lisa Diamond

I own a company called Aprons Americana.  My cobbler aprons are beautiful, functional, and durable.  If you have friends whose clothes are always getting splattered with food while cooking, my aprons will solve that problem!  They have two pockets for your iPod, cell phone, tissue, reading glasses, or vegetables you have picked from your garden.

Check it out: Aprons Americana!

Happy Thanksgiving 2009

Up On The Roof

What a magical time it was when I lived in Venice, CA, in the 1980’s.  This self-portrait photo is of my sisters and my mom:  Roxanne, Keely, Barbara (Mom), Eleni and me. We were up on the roof of my Venice loft on Venice Way.  I love my family so much and they were always very gracious photo subjects.

Keely Posing Along The Road

November 24, 2009 by Lisa Diamond

We were driving across country and I took this photo of my sister Keely during a pit stop.  After we were done shooting, we looked down and there was a green snake on the ground!  We got out of that field fast!  This was shot with a Kodak Instamatic X-15.   She is wearing a henley shirt, which were very “in” in 1971?  I loved those shirts!

Steve Booper

November 23, 2009 by Lisa Diamond

I want to honor my brother-in-law, Steve, who tragically died on November 13, 2009.  He had a heart of gold, the best smile.  He had a zest for life, was very upbeat.  A superb chef.  He loved my sister Keely 1000%.  They were together 22 years.

Maggie The Puppy

November 18, 2009 by Lisa Diamond

Maggie was such a precious puppy.

This is Maggie around 15 (?) years ago.  Keely and Steve bought her in Palm Springs.  She brought them a lot of joy.

First Chicken Shots

November 16, 2009 by Lisa Diamond

My parents let me use their Kodak camera when I was around 10 or 11.  Then they bought me my own Kodak Instamatic X15.  While we were driving across country from Los Angeles to Massachusetts  I took a photo of some chickens next to us in a truck.  I saw repetition and graphics with the chickens.  I was learning how to “see.”

Today's sunrise

RIP – my sister Keely’s husband Steve passed away yesterday.

Death is naught
I have only passed to the other side.
I am me. You are you.
That which we were for each other, we are still.
Give me the name you have always given me.
Speak to me as you have always done.
Don’t use a different tone.
Don’t adopt a sad or solemn air.
Continue laughing at things
we laughed at together.
Pray, smile, think of me, pray with me.

Let my name be spoken at home
as it always has been -
Without emphasis of any kind,
or trace of a shadow.
Life still means what it meant.
It is that which it has always been.
The thread has not been cut.
Why would I be out of your thoughts?
Simply because I am out of your sight?
I am not far, just on the other side of the path.

You see, everything is fine.
You will rediscover my heart.
In it, you will rediscover pure tenderness…
(I love you. I always will.)

Blessings and peace be with you, dear heart.
